I applied online. I interviewed at ByteDance (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
First applied via LinkedIn. The recruiter reached out to follow up within a week and asked me to add her via WeChat, where all convos were conducted in Mandarin. The recruiter then set up a video con call with a manager in China, and the interview was conducted entirely in Mandarin. Overall, I was quite surprised that the entire interview process was in Mandarin, as the job listing was in English, located in CA, and found on LinkedIn.
bytedance interview has totally 3 rounds. the first round will be with your direct boss; second run could be your colleges or your boss's boss; the last round usually is with hr, if you pass the first two rounds, can just prepare nothing for the third round.
