I applied online. I interviewed at ByteDance (Singapur)
Interview
Jaw dropping interview experiences. My experiences were aligned to what others commented - there is a lack of candidate experiences, more shockingly, I had met with their "HR leaders" who did not display professionalism of a leader.
Few points on why the experiences were bad:
- during interview arrangement, you would have no clue who you are meeting. You have to probe the admin who could only tell you they are not able to share anything with you
- admin email had typo errors
- the HR leaders do not show themselves on zoom
- accented english which makes it pretty hard to understand
- your only POC is the admin staff who knows nothing
- No email update on the next stage of interview. Silence from admin staff when you asked about updates
Ironically, the HR leaders said candidate experiences are important. But they do not walk the talk.
I agree with an earlier interview review that one can't imagine how it's like to work in such a backwards HR team that doesn't pride themselves in making good impressions.
Thank you for this thoughtful feedback. We truly apologize for the many issues you experienced with communication and responsiveness. One of our core values is to be candid and clear, so your experience as a candidate clearly does not meet our expectations. We've passed on your feedback to our recruitment team and hope you will consider other roles at ByteDance that may interest you; in the meantime, feel free to reach out to us with more feedback at global-oc@bytedance.com
The interview held through zoom and lasted 30min. It was divided into three parts and includes several questions about personality, internship experiences, and career paths. The interviewer is nice and patient without asking many judging questions. If you want to pass the interview, prepare more about the company profile and dig into yourself. It is important to find the linkness between company requirements and you strengths.
The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ByteDance in Jun 2020
Interview
No information about the hiring manager or role. Was invited to move forward to an interview directly. The hiring manager gave feedback that I didn’t give her answers that she was looking for.
