I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Oct 2010
Interview
Three stage interview - two people technical and logic, one person logic and HR. Logic puzzles used, C and Java tests. Online test prior to interview used. Told employee training lasts a couple of months and an 80% pass park exam used at the end of training. Excellent office, free snacks and more in kitchen. Interview was very informal, questions were challenging but not impossible, made to feel relaxed.

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Nov 2010
Interview
First it was on-line IQ test. Followed by a phone interview about a week later. It took about an hour, brainteasers mainly, since I am not a CS major. Received an invitation for in-house interview a couple days later. First round was 2:1 interview, followed by 1:1 interview with a manager and finally HR person. Very straight forward, brainteasers and algorithms problems mostly. Took about 2.5 hours. Interviewers were very friendly and nice, nonetheless received a rejection e-mail 10 days later.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Nov 2010
Interview
Originally took personality test. Then timed IQ / Intelligence test. Then got an email about scheduling a phone interview. Had the phone interview, went decently well. A couple brain teaser questions, one or two very general programming questions. Invited for in-house interview, which consisted of a 2:1 interview, a 1:1 interview with a person of higher ranking, and then a short meeting with an HR person. First two interviews were fairly technical, more brain teaser questions. Whole process took about 2 hours. Offered job about a week later
