I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Manassas, VA) in Oct 2007
Interview
A week or so after filling the application out online, I received a call from one of the managers at my local Best Buy. She did a brief interview with me over the phone and then we scheduled an appointment for a face to face interview. The face to face interview was all about my previous jobs and what skills I have. The manager liked the fact that I had previous experience with sales and customer service. When the manager was done with me, a Geek Squad associate gave me a brief talk about what skills I poses. He asked me some technical questions then we set up a last interview. On the last interview, I sat face to face with the stores General Manager in a closed room. It was a little intimidating. She asked me questions about how I would handle certain customer situations. She really liked the fact that I would not call a manager if a customer asks. She liked the fact that I would handle the situation as best as I could before calling a manager. At the end of the interview, we discussed getting a drug test within 3 days then discussed pay. She was very firm on the pay and would not negotiate.

Dress nicely. They appreciate it.There are three interviews. First, the supervisor over the department that you are applying for, then the manager over that department, and then the general manager over the entire store. After each interview, if they are no longer interested in hiring you, you will not have the second or third interview.

Interview
For me it went pretty quick. The only problem I had was calling back to see if I had gotten the job. The phones were not manned at the time and I had to call for about 3 hours before someone would answer the phone. When I finally got someone on the phone they had no idea and the person I needed to speak to was not there, but a message was left and they got back to me in a fairly timely manner.
