Barclays Software Engineer interview questions

I had an interview with Barklays for a technical role sometime back. After the first round, the HR called me after 10 days saying that I got selected for the second technical round. The second round went well. Post that I tried following up with the HR to ask for a feedback on the interview and she used to just come up with- I'll get back to you by EOD. A week passed but I still did not get a response even after multiple mails and calls. After a week they sent a mail saying the interview process has gone on hold and no update as of now. If they did not want a candidate, why did they even conduct the interview and waste someone's time.

Interview process begins with an online application with a situational judgement test. The next stage is a video interview with some programming tasks as well as some basic arithmetic and data analysis of figures. Final stage is an assessment day with 3 different tasks. VR, Business Insight and Technical Interview.
