Interview
I had a negative experience with Barclays India. I got a call from the HR for the position of AVP Data Scientist. Initially, the HR told me that there will only be 1 round of interview which will be technical. I cleared the technical round. Then, I got a call from the member of technical team that there will be another round which is the take home case study round that is to be completed in 1 week and share the same over the email. When I called the HR about the same, she had no clue about this round and said she will confirm and revert. But she never confirmed it. I completed and shared the case study round which comprises of 4 tasks; 2 were classification, 1 was related to recommendation systems and 1 was related to clustering. Then after nobody reached out. I tried calling the HR multiple times and days but she didn't responded. When I called the technical person he responded that the HR has left the organization and some other HR will be assigned by the HR Manager Priyanka. The new HR didn't cared to update me about the status of the candidature. After a week, I got a system generated cultural assessment email from HR team to be completed in 5 days. The assessment comprises of cultural questions with 3 options out of which we have to select 2 answers. I completed that and got a rejection email from the team stating that they are not proceeding further with my candidature without stating any reason. Since, I didn't have any contact details about the new HR, I called the technical person about the reason of rejection and he said that this rejection is from HR and nothing can be done further from their end. I asked him about the contact details of the HR to connect but he only gave me an email of her. When I sent an email, she didn't cared to respond. So, my efforts in completing the long 1 week case study and giving the interview were wasted. I would say think before you apply for Barclays India since the process is pathetic and worst.
