I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Barclays (Bournemouth, Inglaterra) in Jun 2012
Interview
The interview process included a situational awareness test, logical and numerical reasoning tests. Afterwards a formal interview was conducted that involved questions based on my previous work history and ability to perform on the job. There were some personality questions conducted as well, pretty standard generic questions and no strength judgement style questions. Also no random "how many red cars are there in the UK?" stuff.

I have applied for numerous jobs, where I meet all or at least 95% of the qualifications, listed in the job description, within the last year. Barclay's never, ever called me to schedule a phone interview. I waited for a few months and applied again. I literally received a rejection email, one day later. I have tons of experience and I'm not understanding why I never, ever get a phone screen with this company? At this point I will delete my profile and never apply again.

Interview
5 stages, two SMs, 2 MDs, 1 Manager. It was a long drawn out process with limited involvement from HR. The senior managers were slightly on the tough side, though all in all I was impressed with the process and the level of respect I was shown by the receptionist.
