I had two rounds of interviews. The first round I was interviewed by the Director of my team and a Data Scientist, the second round I was interviewed by a Lead Machine Learning Engineer who was more techie. First round was some general questions about past experience plus a bit of technical questions. Second round starts with a take home assignment, followed by a full blown technical interview.

It was 30 min introductory 1st stage interview (within this interviewer had to check his door twice). He asked explain my past projects which I explained. However he kept saying that we are only going to do customer churn nothing extra. My cv should have most of information about my 4 years of experience and phd level studies. If you want to do only customer churn then why interview a person who has research based experience. When I asked question, are thinking of using NLP techniques around customer reviews ? He said NO. It felt like waste of time.
