I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BT Group (Oakham, England) in Apr 2019
Interview
Initial screening my interview, which was
asking if you have any unspent convictions, are you able to commute, and can you commit to the hours etc. If you pass that then you are put forward for a 40 minute telephone interview, then if successful you are invited to the assessment day. Have a professional manner on the phone at all times, as it is a telephone job. For the telephone interview, be very prepared, as if you haven’t prepared it will show. They want you to do well, my interviewer was fantastic. BT use the STAR technique for interviews, so research this and relate it to customer service. I prepared for at least 2 hours before telephone
interview and passed. Very impressed with BT, compared to some companies, very professional and slick recruiting process.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Give me an example of when you have given great customer service?
Smooth first interview, typical HR questions. Questions were related to my background and previous job, mostly. Some language assessment as well. They also asked about my strengths, weaknesses, and how I handle challenges, while maintaining a friendly tone that made the conversation feel comfortable and engaging throughout the interview process overall.
Quick application process and friendly interview. I was pleased with the process although I did not receive an offer. I believe they would like someone who has at least 2-3 years customer service experience.

Question 1
Can you please describe a time when you met a deadline?
I interviewed at BT Group (Belfast, Irlanda del Norte)
Interview
Joke of a place. Management is seriously lacking empathy and communication skills. Very poor display overall. You’re only a number to these type of companies. Not acceptable in 2026. In Prison you’re treated better
