I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Autodesk (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2020
Interview
I first chatted with a recruiter who then arranged a phone screen with a Manager. He seemed very passionate about what the team does and had a whole list of impressive qualifications to back him. Loved this guy.
Then I was invited to on-site and boy was it a mess. First, despite me having to compromise significantly to accomodate an interviewer, he didn't even show up to the interview. The replacement kept asking pointless questions and clearly had no concrete plan to test skills. For example randomly asks me to do vector math....
Then we move on to the second interview which is a video chat with another team in Montreal. 1+ hour of straight interrogation, not a discussion but an interrogation. At 40 minutes I wanted to cut this short because I lost all interest in the job but they kept going past the 1 hour mark.
Left for home with a piercing headache. Never heard back from the recruiter but a few months later another recruiter on LinkedIn wanted to me connect regarding an amazing opportunity with the company. No thanks.
