I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Austin, TX) in Oct 2011
Interview
Talked to Apple recruiter and engineer at my University's career fair. A week later, got selected for a 1-1 interview with an iOS software engineer. I thought it was going to be just a behavioral interview, but he asked about memory management. Finally, he asked me to write a method that checks whether one string parameter is a substring of another string parameter.
A week or 2 after the interview, I received an email saying that the interviewer was impressed with my skills, that my resume would be forwarded to his team, and they would contact me if they were interested. I didn't hear back from his team specifically, but another recruiter reached out to me later.
