After completing the hirevue interview, asking the typical behavioural questions, I was invited to participate to a group assesment in person. It consisted of multiple tasks to be solved together with the other candidates and one individual task.
I applied online. I interviewed at American Express (Roma)
Interview
The first process is to fill the application, then you will fit them, they will invite you to video recording interview that record a video of you and ask you some general question, like: why Amex,... After passing this process, I invited to a group interview with a manager, a data scientist, Hr. and five other candidates. From the outset of the interview, I was the only non-Italian speaking member. Despite the understanding that the interview would be in English, the initial conversation carried out in Italian, making me excluded and uncomfortable. I had to request them to switch to English, which, regrettably, they did it reluctantly. Even they finished the interview again in Italian. Moreover, I was given 2 tasks in Excel containing technical questions, all of which were in Italian. It took lots of my time to just understand them so I could not perform at my best even though the tasks were quite easy. What concerns me more, in the lack of communication is that after the interview, I did not receive any feedback for 18days until I reached out to them and ask about the results. I am really sorry for these employees of the AMEX's Italian branch. They are the most unprofessional and disrespectful team I've ever seen.
