I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
My initial conversations with the recruiter went well prior to the phone interview.
After the phone interview, however, he never responded back to my two e-mails requesting status on the process since I hadn't heard back.
Not to mention, this recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn.
Amazon's recruiting e-mail says they strive to inform candidates of status within 2 business days after the interview. It's been 6 business days and the recruiter still hasn't returned my e-mails.
Over the years I've interviewed for several Amazon positions (90% of the time the recruiters have reached out to me) and one thing is consistent: there seems to be a general disregard and lack of respect for candidates' time.
Meanwhile, this morning I had another Amazon recruiter reach out to me to discuss leadership opportunities in another group.
I will never waste my time discussing bringing my talents to Amazon again in the future. If the recruitment process is this terrible, it's no surprise they have such a high attrition rate.
