Applied the position during Dec. 2016, and received the online assessment in the middle of Jan. 2017. A week later, received the onsite. The experience is good.
There is no more detail since the NDA. However, the interview is processed with 4 loop. Each loop includes behavior question, system design, data structure and algorithm. The algorithm is median, and behavior question and system design should be prepared well. You should recall the details of your projects before interview.

Interview
3 stages, 1st phone interview 2nd phone interview, then face to face.
I had applied to two roles. Both were big data machine learning roles. One was with Evi and the other was Checkout Recommendations. I passed the 1st and 2nd stages. But the recruiters were highly unprofessional and messed me about. I had to chase them up when they finally got to communicate with me on the face 2 face stage. But, by that time I had enough so I called it quits. No one likes being messed about in the interview process and get told that the head count has been filled. And, yet the recruiter stated they had tried to reach me but it was self-evident through the communication trail that they never did but all the while wasted my time in the process. They had the nerve to invite me in to a face 2 face for the other role as well for which I just lost interest. I was not going to be messed about the second time. There is a lot of internal racism and unprofessionalism at Amazon. Also, they took literally 3 months. In that time, they were literally reaching out to me (no really they weren't), so they say. My advice is don't bother applying if you don't like being messed about with recruiters that handle the application/interview process unprofessionally just to waste your time. They don't practice the core values that they preach.
