I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Denver, CO) in Nov 2020
Interview
Normal process of 7 hours. Interviewer had set questions and expected set answers and they do know the right answer :(. I was disappointed with skill level of interviewer . Stay away from
This
One of the worst interviewing experiences.
Recruiter scheduled phone screening interview without any description for what the meeting was about and wasn't able to provide any feedback after that.
After asking for specific feedback why they are not willing to continue the process, I received this "The decision is based on your interview performance, and tied back with our Leadership Principles and role requirements". So basically nothing.
Screening interview was a bit of a joke as well with the interviewer spending awkward moments writing down feedback and very text-book questions.
When I asked him about his role and why he is happy there was no depth in his answer.

Question 1
Explain how you would build tinyurl system verbally
Initially had 3 phone screens with 2 managers and the Lead Hardware Architect. These asked about background and were behavioral regarding how I approach situations as a manager, leading others, coaching, hiring, and firing.
Then came on-site interviews, which was a day-long interview panel with 6 people. Tiring day but I felt I had the right background and didn't have any issues answering the management and some technical questions about server architecture.
The entire process from phone interviews to starting job took about 8 weeks.
