I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
There are 3 main steps Amazon has been following for interviews.
1- Online Quiz
It took me to my high school years as all the test questions were composed of basic math measurements based on graphs, clusters and tables. You will need a peacefull place and calculator while solving the problems.
2- Online Interview
If you succeed the 1st step, you will receive a call from a manager of any Amazon office (and any department) which will last apprx. 45 minutes to discuss about your background, any projects yu held and any success you had previously. Be ready to get questions for specific details of your background as the interviewer will be ready enough to ask those (he/she wil already have your resume in advance).
3- Face to face Interviews
This is the most difficult part of the whole process. In my case, I had consecutive F2F interviews with 5 different Directors from different departments and each lasted at least 45 minutes. I had only 5-10 minutes breaks between the sessions. Research the STAR approach if you have no idea as all the questions are subject to that methodology. Here are some questions I got:
-- Tell me about a time when you had to convince the people who were not supporting your idea and what was the outcome?
-- Tell me about a time when you were leading a group, were assigned a goal, and did not reach it?
-- Tell me about a time when you had to make deep analytical analysis to make a decision but you had no enough time to do that. How did you handle the decision making and what was the outcome?
-- Tell me about a time when you resolved conflict with coworkers, and what did you learn from the experience?
-- Tell me about a time when you didn’t make the right decision and what did you do to resolve it?
you didn’t make the right decision and what did you do to resolve it?
-- Tell me about a time you used so much data to make a decision.
-- Tell me about yourself.
-- Why Amazon and where did you hear about this opening?
You can get the same questions from different sessions; which I think thay want to see your consistency. Be well prepared for at least 4-5 previous projects you held to use for STAR approach. Be specific and try to give all the details regarding the case.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublín, Dublín) in Mar 2026
Interview
Very positive experience. The down side was there were 6 rounds of interviews in total but they were scheduled close together. Communication was excellent and a huge amount of helpful resources provided to you to help you prepare.
Phone interview. Asked 4 typical question. The Amazon phone interview was structured and focused on behavioral questions using the STAR method. The interviewer was professional, asking about leadership principles, past challenges, and decision-making. It felt fast-paced yet conversational. I shared clear examples from my experience, highlighted results, and ended confident I demonstrated impact and fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you took ownership of a project.
Describe a situation where you disagreed with a teammate or manager.
Give an example of when you delivered results under tight deadlines.
It was a long but a well designed one. There are tips online that one should go over before the interview process. It can take more than one month to complete the steps, so one should be patient while taking all the tests and other stuff.
