A time when you faced adversity in a professional setting, and how you overcame this.
During a job interview for a marketing position at a well-known agency, the candidate was asked a series of very technical, IT-specific questions completely unrelated to the role. Despite trying to steer the conversation back to their expertise in brand strategy and campaign management, the interviewer kept pushing for detailed answers about server configurations and backend infrastructure. To make matters worse, halfway through the interview, the fire alarm in the building went off, forcing everyone outside for 30 minutes. When they finally resumed, the interviewer seemed even more distracted and asked the same irrelevant questions all over again. The candidate left the interview unsure if they’d even been assessed for the job they applied for.
It was a 30 min call with a recruiter via zoom, asked to use STAR method. Standard interview questions. Recruiter was nice and the call was concise and to the point
