Asked a few very short questions on the application and very soon after was given a video-based interview.
You will be shown a question at a time on the screen. Since they cut you off after a set time, you shouldn't spend too long thinking about the answer.
I focused on answering in a structured manner and only highlighted 2-3 key points in each of my response. There will be no time for detailed explanation so keep in concise and clear.
Video interview was a bit odd but actually quite a good chance to make a goof face to face impression. The questions at this stage were quite random, but I suspect deliberately so to try and see how candidates handle pressure. The interviews were very motivation-based and focussed little on competencies.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AlphaSights
Interview
First step: send your CV & a two hundred word competency question.
Second step: automated, rolling video interview to test communication skills.
4 or 5 questions.
There are only 5-15 seconds between questions to gather your thoughts for the question so be prepared. There is an-screen timer so seems v time pressured; you only have 60 seconds per answer - seems much easier than it is.
