I applied online. I interviewed at Adyen (Ámsterdam) in May 2024
Interview
First a recruiter interview, second a Behavorial interview, then a live code, and then System Design. I couldn't pass the System Design interview, it was hard and the interviweer was taff about event driven architecture.
I applied online. I interviewed at Adyen (Chicago, IL) in May 2024
Interview
Don't waste your time with them unless you really believe you have a high probability of being onboarded.
Had a initial phone screen, which went well. Then was sent a difficult Hackerrank assessment to solve algorithmic problems. I did not pass the assessment, but I have been told that some folks who do not pass still get hired. I notified the recruiter that I had taken the code screen and was ready for next steps and never heard back. Instead, I was simply sent an automated "How did we do?" email.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2024
Interview
Given a take-home assessment with a 2 hour time limit. Completed assessment and passed all given unit tests.
A week later met with engineer at Adyen to go over THA results and answer some technical questions unrelated to THA. Felt interview went well.
A few days later received an automated email saying I failed the previous interview due to some nit-picky reasons of things I missed that were never mentioned by my recruiter or the assessment itself (i.e. lack of unit tests even though company provided ~20 hidden unit tests via hackerrank).
Overall the interview process itself was straight-forward, but I feel slightly in the dark here as had I known about miscellaneous extra requirements needed I would've done them during the take-home assessment.
