I applied online. I interviewed at AT&T (Houston, TX) in Dec 2022
Interview
Zoom like feature …basic. Took 30 minutes-I just engaged. I didn’t care for the process. Interview should be based on if someone can get the job done or not. This thing says 30 word minimum so I’ll just continue on unintelligently until I hit that 30 since that’s what it says I have to do my bad y’all say less lol

Interview
There are many branches of cybersecurity at AT&T, so your experience may vary: The process was good, very streamlined, I first had an interview with one of Associate Directors as well as a couple of people who would be my coworkers if I got the position. It was a mix between a culture fit and a technical interview. They asked conflict resolution questions as well as DNS and attack surface questions. Be careful though, whatever you bring up, be confident in it because they’ll capitalize on it. For example, they only asked me DNS questions because I brought up DNS, so your interview flow may vary depending on what you bring up, so don’t do so casually. Besides that they asked me questions about the difference between a threat and a vulnerability, how I would investigate possible indicators of compromise, and other general tech questions such as networking questions. The next interview was with the head of that arm of AT&T, and it was honestly just a casual conversation. I couldn’t tell you what he was looking for or what he got from our conversation that he used to decide to push me through, but I got an offer after that.

Question 1
What’s the difference between a threat and a vulnerability? Would it be faster to encrypt a file and then send it or send it over an encrypted channel? How can DNS be used a method of leveraging vulnerabilities for an attacker? How is DNS used internally vs. externally?
