I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AT&T (Cerritos, CA) in Jan 2012
Interview
After passing there online assessment tests I received a phone interview within 3 hours. I was then told I will be sched. for an interview with the recruiting human resource manager for that following Monday and to dress professional. Monday came and I went to the ATT corp offices 15 minutes early. MAKE SURE TO WEAR A SUIT AND TIE!!! This is a very professional building so you need to dress for it… I was taken up to the top floor and sat in a very nice conference room with the HR Mgr. We talked for about an hour and I asked if he is looking to take me to the next level since I was getting all the right body language from him. He said he is very impressed and will contact me next week to meet with the Store Manager. If the store manager gives the thumbs up, then it’s a go. One week passed with no call. I went to the store and introduced myself to the manager who said they had no clue about me or the position I was trying to get. Tried to call the HR Mgr and got vmail. One week later I checked the ATT site and found I was rejected for the position and it is now closed. Called some old contacts in the wireless industry I worked with in another state and found out this is the norm for ATT. They only hire young and dumb and won’t be upfront with you if they are not going to hire you. My advice… Go to the store you are looking to hire before your interview and make sure the position is still available AND introduce yourself to the store manager letting them know you are going in for the interview.

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AT&T (Fayetteville, GA) in Mar 2012
Interview
I had a face to face interview with the hiring manager for an hour and half. Then interviewed with store manager for about an hour. Just knew I nailed both interviews. It wasn't confirmed that I had the job, I was told that I would be contacted within 3 weeks or so. Training was to began a month from the date I had my interview. After no contact or corrspondence from At&t. I called the hiring manager to find out that the position is no longer going to be filled. I was a little upset, because they didn't communicate that too me at all, not through email or phone call. I think they adleast should have sent an email if you are considered a candidate, but not selected. That would be more professional and give the candidates an heads up.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AT&T (Bratislava) in Mar 2012
Interview
I was offered a position via linkedin contact by company's recruiter, after exchanging a couple of emails we scheduled a phone call. Interview itself went smoothly, although recruiter didn't asked a single question about my background, achievements or skills. Apparently online cv on linkedin was sufficient. After some q&a from my side (I asked about the job description, workplace and overall setup) I was asked to describe my expectations in terms of desired salary, I said and interview was over. Actually they it was twice as their budget for the position set. Entire interview and communication was in english.
