I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ALDI (Manchester, Inglaterra) in Jan 2011
Interview
Fine, asked a few situation based questions.
Very strange part where you get asked to tell you life story from childhood to now.
The interview was one-to one with an area manager, a schoolboy in a suit he looked like to me, reading off a sheet. Friendly, but i'd have preferred an older hand.

Question 1
Think of a time when you etc
What do you know about Aldi
Tell me about you life from early childhood until now
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at ALDI (Darlington, North East England, England) in Apr 2015
Interview
I only made it to telephone interview, but some of the questions were pretty difficult. The one that especially sticks in mind was "Can you tell us what our trading figures are currently?" - I had no idea how to answer that but with a straight no. I figured that as a deputy manager my role would basically be helping organise a smallish team of employees under the direction of senior management - but apparently you have to know the same stuff as a store manager before even getting to face to face. The guy on the phone was pleasant-ish, but very wooden. Also whenever I asked a question, I was simply told I would have to ask the hiring manager if I made it to interview. So the only real saving grace in this instance was the fact that the rejection arrived promptly.

Question 1
They asked me a lot of questions, including the standard stuff like "what do you think your role would be?" and "how large of a team have you managed before?" but the crazy one that sticks in mind is "so, can you tell us what our trading figures are currently?"
