Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
MassBay Community College seeks qualified part time instructors for future semesters to teach Early College and early college-related courses in first-year composition in high schools within our service area, including, but not limited to Framingham, Waltham, and Milford.
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period of time. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Our adjunct instructors hold a master’s degree in a related discipline and have obtained appropriate certification and/or licensure where applicable. Early College Pathways adjunct instructors must be committed to working with high school-aged students and to teaching college classes in high schools across the region and/or at one of the MassBay campus locations. Early College Pathways adjunct instructors will attend an Early College faculty orientation and participate in ongoing professional development throughout the year. Please note: Teaching schedules may vary by school district but are primarily daytime hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with some limited availability of late afternoon/early evening or weekend assignments.
