We’re seeking an experienced SEM Specialist to join our Marketing Liligo team in Barcelona to support the team in managing and optimising Liligo’s paid search and metasearch campaigns. You will have the opportunity to learn best-in-class performance marketing in a fast-moving, data-driven environment. This is a high-impact role for someone who is an analytical thinker with a proven track record in managing large-scale, international PPC accounts, particularly within the travel or e-commerce sector. In this role, you will be working for Liligo, our travel search engine which instantly compares available flights, trains, bus, car rentals and hotel offers; all on the same website to help users find the best deals and simplify travel planning. Based in Paris, simple, objective and transparent, it serves over a million unique monthly visitors across seven languages.
Following a strategic reorganisation, Liligo’s Marketing team is being rebuilt around two core pillars: Paid Acquisition and Organic. We are looking for a motivated SEM specialist to join the Marketing Liligo team and contribute to our performance marketing growth.

What you will do:
The Role’s Key Responsibilities and Tasks

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a SEM Specialist in the Marketing Liligo Team you will be in charge of:

• Campaign Management: Develop, implement, and manage our Pay-Per-Click (PPC) strategies across two search engines Google Ads & Bing Ads for multiple international markets, focusing on flight, train, and car rental verticals.
• Budget Management: Own and manage the 7 figures SEM budget, ensuring optimal allocation and maximum return on ad spend (ROAS).
• Performance Optimization: Conduct continuous A/B testing, keyword research, ad copy optimization, and landing page improvements to drive campaign efficiency and scale.
• Reporting & Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Technology & Tools: Utilize advanced SEM tools and internal data analysis systems to automate and optimize campaigns.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Science, Product, and Content teams to align SEM strategy with overall business goals and product features.
• Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with the latest SEM trends, algorithm changes, and competitor strategies.
• Automation & AI Innovation:

– Drive the adoption of Performance Max and other automated campaign types to scale performance.

– Proactively identify opportunities to use Google Ads Scripts and internal data systems for campaign automation.

– Integrate approved Generative AI tools into daily workflows to enhance productivity while ensuring compliance with group AI policies.

– Stay at the forefront of SEM automation trends, testing new “AI-first” features released by major search engines.

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven Track Record: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), ideally within the travel industry, e-commerce, or a high-volume agency environment.
• Platform Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing).
• Data-Driven Decision Making & Visualization:
  – Analytical Mindset: High level of proficiency in web analytics and reporting tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  – BI & Visualization Tools: Experience building advanced relational data models and cross-channel business intelligence reports in Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  – Spreadsheet Mastery: Strong ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Automation & Scripts: Experience with Google Ads Scripts, automated bidding strategies, and feed-based campaigns (essential for real-time travel pricing).
• Tracking & Tagging: Solid understanding of tracking implementations, including Google Tag Manager (GTM), conversion pixels, and server-side tracking.
• Testing Mindset: Proven experience in designing and executing A/B tests for ad copy, landing pages, and bidding strategies to maximize ROAS.
• Multilingual/International Context: Proficiency in English is mandatory. Fluency in French is highly valued given Liligo’s core market. Knowledge of other European languages (Spanish, Italian, German) is a major asset.
• Metasearch Knowledge: Understanding of the travel metasearch ecosystem and how SEM interacts with price comparison models.
• Agility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, “test-and-learn” environment where market trends change daily.
• Strategic Thinking: You don’t just “manage” campaigns; you look at the big picture to align SEM efforts with Liligo’s overall growth and profitability goals.
• Communication: Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Product, SEO, and Finance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as Gemini, or other AI-powered assistants.
• Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into workflows.
• AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to streamline processes, and enhance productivity.
