Die Position
The Senior Engineering Manager& Solution Architect provides both visionary technical steering and empathetic people leadership. This is a high-impact, hybrid role where 75% of your accountability is dedicated to Solution Architecture and Technical Oversight for the navify® Point of Care (PoC) Program, and 25% is dedicated to engineering management and people development.
As People Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Senior Software Engineers, advising on individual career paths for engineers, mentor Senior/Staff-level contributors, conducting regular performance appraisals, and manage professional growth through personalized development plans.
You will be responsible for the architectural health and delivery outcomes of our Point of Care Operations; a world wide scale solution deployed in more than 50 countries in all world wide regions, connected with more that 250.000 Point of Care instruments in the field. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical implementation, ensuring our cloud-to-edge middleware solution remains scalable, secure, and performant. Point of Care and Healthcare domain knowledge becomes a critical asset to be able to thrive in such a complex environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for business stakeholders, product owners, and external clinical partners. And align between cross disciplines in a highly complex and cross-teams highly dependent environment, making sure Solution Architecture is in line with Enterprise Architecture and overarching E2E Solution design.
- Drive the creation of architectures consistent with project roadmaps, platform strategies, governance policies, and standards. Also, ensure the appropriate implementation of the above-mentioned items.
- Apply stakeholder management and soft skills; especially the ability to influence without formal authority, align architecture roadmaps and dependencies across multiple programs and capacity to build effective networks beyond purely technical expertise.
- Master AI-accelerated SDLCs to rapidly stream architectural designs and core team iterations. Proven experience embedding native AI capabilities into cloud and edge products. And build a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory constraints of AI in healthcare (e.g., FDA guidelines, EU AI Act). Ensures all AI models and features strictly adhere to patient privacy, security, and data integrity standards.
- Translate complex technical debt, roadmap trade-offs, and innovative opportunities into business-value-focused language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Remove blockers at the organization-team interface. Mediate between team dependencies and prioritize technical tasks in line with the architectural roadmap.
- Define and evolve a modular, high-availability architecture on AWS. Drive the adoption of modern Java frameworks that support elastic scaling and high-throughput data processing.
- Standardize our DotNet-based edge solutions. Oversee how we interface with diverse instrument fleets (Accu-Chek Pulse, Inform II, Liat, etc.), ensuring resilience during network volatility.
- Master complex messaging topologies. Define patterns for event-driven architectures, distributed state synchronization, and reliable data delivery in environments where connectivity is intermittent.
- Set the benchmark for Non-Functional Requirements. Lead proactive threat modeling, integrate security-by-design, and ensure our middleware meets stringent medical data integrity and latency SLAs.
- Advise projects on technology and architecture trends they need for their decision-making and external engagements.
- Monitor and review systems so that they are designed and developed in compliance with corporate security, privacy, accessibility, legal and other governance policies.
- Build a high-performing culture. Lead hiring initiatives, maintain team morale, and ensure the engineering organization stays motivated while delivering under regulatory constraints.
- Responsible for the technical and personnel leadership of the team, including employee roles, completion of employee trainings, and performance management (objectives setting and appraisals).
