Job Description:
Dow Jones is seeking a digitally minded Platform Editor to join the NewsPlus team—our real-time news portal for financial professionals.
NewsPlus features company, markets and policy news from Dow Jones Newswires in English and in real time. The platform serves top-tier users at banks, brokerages, and financial services firms.
This is a shift-based role, including early starts, ideal for early-career editors or producers with a strong interest in digital news, business, and markets. The team curates breaking news, features, and analysis from across Dow Jones publications—including the Wall Street Journal—for publishing on the NewsPlus platform and in newsletters and briefings.
You’ll work in a fast-paced digital newsroom, using your news judgment, attention to detail, and awareness of financial news to help deliver the right content at the right time to our professional audience.
You will:
Curate and publish breaking news, market moves, and corporate updates using Dow Jones content.
Begin work at 6:30am on a typical 9-hour shift, including a one-hour lunch break. Flexibility is required based on news flow and global team coverage.
Use CMS tools to tag and optimize content across the NewsPlus platform.
Package content for newsletters and briefings with clear, concise summaries.
Monitor real-time news flow and spot top headlines across regions.
Collaborate with colleagues in WSJ, Dow Jones Newswires and other teams globally.
You have:
Some experience in a digital newsroom or publishing environment.
Strong interest in financial markets, business news or economics.
Familiarity with content management systems and metadata tagging.
Excellent editorial judgment and a sharp eye for detail.
Ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
A collaborative, proactive mindset and willingness to work flexible shifts.
To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing how you would do the job, by July 31th. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we encourage early submission as the position may be filled before the deadline
