Tell me about a time when you helped a customer through a difficult process.

Previously, I worked in a school as a stores manager. Now it was in our policies that all pupils bought school uniforms from the school and strictly no where else. My task was to ensure that the stores department supplied the right uniforms for every pupil. The issue was that over the holidays one of my customers gained some weight, significantly, such that I was left with nothing that could fit him in the stores. The most difficult part was the fact that he came to notify on the very day he was supposed to attend class. Now our policies were so strict that he was not allowed to attend class in any apparel that wasn't uniform. My actions included prioritizing this issue and I personally made sure the designer took custom measurements of the boy and designed his fit. To follow up, I personally drove to the designers workshop to ensure things were moving as I thought that calling over the phone could slow things down. As a result of my actions, the uniform was ready in just 3 days which prevented the boy from missing as much as he would, if I hadn't acted promptly.
