Pros

Friday drinks Sometimes snacks provided The people you work with directly are great

Cons

Employees made to feel more like a number than a valued worker. Very high turnover and external hires rather than retaining current employees. Very low morale around the office when it used to be a great energy. Huge tensions between teams with nothing in place or any efforts made to resolve this. Management not trained to properly support workers in more practical ways such as career progression or management of work loads. Upper management very disconnected to the rest of the office . Departments very separated both physically and professionally. Changes made constantly without consulting those who will be affected the most. Feedback doesn't seem to go anywhere, just gets dismissed. Wish I could say more positive things but ultimately was very unhappy working for SiteMinder

Pros

Great pay is the only pro for this company!

Cons

This place runs like a high school from the movie "Mean Girls." Be careful getting into clicks and watch what you say. The management and staff are unable to be trusted from the bottom up.

I've been called many things across the course of my career but I've never been called a mean girl before! On a more serious note, it sounds like you are having a really bad time of it, if you would like to have a chat and get some support I'd be happy to try and help, I'm at charlie.milne@siteminder.com

Pros

Very little, it is a good place if you are fresh off the college otherwise I wouldn't spend my time here. The only pros are: the multicultural environment, central location and "Four Thirsty" (at Friday you finish your working day at 4:30, get free drinks, relax and socialize with other colleagues).

Cons

1) Only some departments are allowed to join the Four Thirsty (not Service Desk) and honestly I feel sad drinking and having fun while watching other people still working till 6:00 PM on Friday. 2) The company has 10 years experience but they say they are a startup just because their Galway office is new while some people in there have been working for the same company for years. They use this to justify many things. 3) They say they are open to suggestions to improve themselves (because they are a startup...) but when you actually start talking they don't really listen to your point of view and this is so disappointing, they could just shut up at first instead of asking you, they should know they are not dealing with children. I have seen many people being very passionate about their role at the beginning and then losing their enthusiasm for this. 4) They promise a lot but don't deliver, it's just their strategy and this is the reason why many people after 6 months have left the company, after realizing their promises will never become true. It's just another call centre, they just want to look smarter than others. It is a very good place for a person with no job experience, not for somebody with experience who has been carefully selected and recruited.

Our environment in Galway is a professional call centre and it is important that new starters to the company understand that they will be supporting our customers online and on the phone. Unfortunately, this does mean that some members of staff may be required to remain on the phone to support our clients and ensure great service whilst others can enjoy Friday drinks. Generally these duties are rotated where possible to ensure a fair balance between staff. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time with us more and hope your new choice of role proves better suited to you.
