      Bad experience, but not a terrible place to work

      Pros

      People were nice, flexible scheduling

      Cons

      People were very set in their ways and were not always willing to help or explain things to someone new. There was zero tolerance for mistakes. No one is perfect, so this isn't acceptable. I was put into a position under a new manager who didn't know what he was doing (he had also just started). We were trying to switch over to a program that was already in use in Europe to produce MSDSs, but it was an impossible task. I would make a MSDS following the procedure I was given from Europe then sales and R&D would freak out about it having stuff in there that reacted out, repeat, repeat, repeat. I tried my very best to work with the program and with everyone involved, but it was a terribly frustrating ordeal. My manager even told me I had a bad attitude when I would explain my frustrations. At the peak of this, I was offered a job from a previous employer and ran as fast as I could.

      Pros

      There was no pros to mention, maybe the location in Zurich. It is rare that a chemical company is located in such a nice area.

      Cons

      Bad management, lazy employees Only loud-mouths and those who are politically well linked get promoted. Very stingy employer!

      Pros

      Excellent company, brilliant leadership, most intelligent engineers/R&D people in the industry, passionate people committed to customers and quality. The corporate structure allows you the freedom to tap into your gifts. After 17 years with this company I am still overwhelmed by how much we operate from division to division as a TEAM. Industry to Roofing, we are ONE, striving to take each individual part and make it a WHOLE to support our customers.

      Every company has it's challenges.
