Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, pretty up to date when it comes to tech, high level of ambition within the company, friendly colleagues, good work/life balance and my direct manager is a great guy.

Cons

It's a very big company which means it's bureaucratic and pretty heavy on management. It's hard to stand out.

Pros

There are none other than none of my paychecks have bounced.

Cons

They treat you worse than a number, they honestly don't care about you. HR is the worst! Assume everything they tell you is a lie because 9 out 10 times it is. 25% of your year will be spent wasting time in meaningless training, filling out ridiculous HR none sense, and waiting for your boss to give you requirements since you will never ever get to talk directly to a customer. Think you will be surrounded by people who are passionate about technology and software...think again. The people there are clueless, lack any understanding about technology. 99% of the people there do nothing, they sit around and talk all day and nothing gets done. Whatever they tell you about Agile is a total lie, they take years to develop anything, and even then laugh about how their customers all hate and complain about their software. Management is all about checklists and brown nosing. For software engineers this is career suicide! You will sit around do absolutely nothing because management is incompetent and is literally incapable of knowing what good software is, and then when you eventually quit you will have to explain to your next employer why you have nothing to show for all that time.

Pros

I worked with some great and talented people as Schlumberger

Cons

The oil business is cyclic and so you could be affected by the next work force reduction.
