Solid place to work, but not for someone who wants to work on fun/exciting projects
Pros
-Great benefits: 401K, health, dental, TIP, education plans, etc. -Good pay -Insane job stability -Managers encourage movement within the company -Dedicated workforce with lots of experience in the company and with insurance -Loyal to the company -Very nice people with a couple of 'grumblers' -Work/life balance is important to the company
Cons
-It's insurance -Lot's of old processes -Any change is very slow to happen -With any change comes about 95% of the employees involved freaking out about it for weeks and then complaining about how they like the older way better after it's been implemented. -Culture is exactly what you expect it to be at an insurance company: everything is a liability. -Projects move very slowly - lot's of red tape -Leaving the company is taboo, everyone expects you to work there for 40+ years -Lack of innovative projects -There's a lack of excitement about the product
