Pros

Great benefits; 6 weeks paid leave, birthday off, lunch 3 times a week and breakfasts, not the worst remuneration package for software engineers in Berlin

Cons

There are two schools of thought at KAYAK - those who want to work on sustainable, innovative projects with a focus on long term benefits and those who wants to work on the short term "throw-away" features and frequent A/B testing. Management tends to be more focused on the short term features and doesn't allow teams with longer term goals to flourish and show what they can do, and the company really suffers for it.

Pros

Good benefits for permanent employees.

Cons

- HR in London haven't got a clue what they're doing - Shooting from the hip mentality .. - Don't follow GDPR accurately, nor do they follow their own processes - Remove people from the business if they deem them to be a 'problem' - American company with no idea how to work with other regions

No Empathy, Terrible Management

Pros

Very competitive pay and excellent benefits. Opportunity to work with extremely bright people in a fast-paced and cutting-edge tech company.

Cons

No emphasis on people management. The C-level executives set a poor example of personal conduct in the way they let their personal lives bleed into their professional lives (The CMO & CFO are married). Upper management displays a shocking lack of empathy. Long-time employees can be fired and not even thanked for their service. Upper management's behavior affects the entire organization negatively, resulting in the formation of cliques, and creating paranoia across teams.
