Pros

(Too much) work life balance

Cons

When I say work life balance I mean people coming in at 10 and leaving at 4 and running personal errands throughout the day. Welcome to ING. There is hardly any gender diversity especially in senior management. Even though the environment is supposed to be international, it is a lot easier to progress if you are white, male and speak Dutch of which I am not. Once a manager even told me when I was pregnant that I should stay at home and look after my child. HR tends to side with their own. Bad management cascades down from the top. More often than not, I hear my direct manager suffer the same fate as me but it seems like since his manager did nothing to alleviate his 'pain', he could not do much or is following the example of his manager. Also seen enough selfish managers in my time for example one who blatantly told me he does not care about my personal development as it is not beneficial to him.

Pros

Pros are as follows, 1. Above Average Salary versus Local (PH). This includes competitive allowances. 2. Competitive HMO packages. 3. Generally Non-Toxic Culture due to Orange Code. 4. Impressive Facilities and offices in the Philippines

Cons

Cons are as follows, 1. Inaccurate Advertisement on Work Set-Up. They say they offer hybrid set-up of at least 40-50%, but it's false. WFH is a luxury as it depends on the Foreign counterparts whether they'll allow people to WFH or not. 2. Indifferent Foreign Counterparts — Not very orange code built. 3. Unorganized Organization Structure — due to limited perspective as a hub, there's no stable organization structure. It feels as if you're a VA/Personal Assistant and not working in a reputable financial institution. 4. Yes, the compensation package is unbelievably competitive but it's at the expense of your work life balance as you're expected to wear many hats, be unreasonably submissive, and handle thousands of backlogs that you'll only discover once you're hired. 5. Inefficient platforms, resources, and workflow. The Bank is not exactly well trained in Credit Processes. Too many unnecessary tasks.
