Pros

Great co workers, generous time off, good benefits.

Cons

New “reorganization” made this store disorganized and employees disenfranchised. The company gave everyone new job titles and reassigned responsibilities because, let’s face it, how else can you make massive paycuts all at once? Didn’t work because now the sales are down, the store is in a shambles, and fewer and fewer customers are coming in. Why should they? Nine times out of ten the item they want is out of stock, and if it’s in stock and they try to set up,delivery it might never arrive. The place I was once proud to represent has become an embarrassment. The majority of my customer interactions involve me apologizing profusely for something that is completely out of my control.

Mixed up mess

Pros

PTO, medical benifits(just above average now), 401k

Cons

Reorganization this past year was done poorly. Many coworkers and previous managers that have been with the company for many years got demoted and large paycuts. Newer mangers and coworkers were promoted through this reorg. Not because they were best fit, though they could have been, but because they were cheaper. There is now more hourly (cheaper) middle management in some departments then before and less salary management. More separation between the different color shirts (yellow vs blue shirts). Some jobs are now only part of new Hubs which are only open Monday-Friday. Certain departments have been severely demoralized such as the design department in the store. They went from a creative team that did a lot of planning and creating interesting local solutions to a team that isn’t allowed to think on their own. It’s a mess. The coworkers are working their butts of trying to make it work but the pervasive anger and disappointment coming off of those that were snubbed in the process has been even more toxic then the poorly managed change.
