Pros

WESH 2 News is one of the news leaders in a Top 20 market. They are some of the best in the business of local news and the internship program is extremely helpful if you are hoping to start a career in news. There are hands-on opportunities to help in the news gathering process and interns are expected to do just that.

Cons

This is not really a con, but opportunities to help are typically not just handed to interns--they are there, but you really have to be a self-starter and reach out for them yourself.

Good but not great

Pros

Nice people, good benefits, decent salary, good job security in most positions, lots of opportunities to transfer within the company.

Cons

Not much of a work/life balance, salaries are low when compared elsewhere, very old-fashioned, no work from home opportunities, old equipment and software programs.

Pros

Great co-workers, established local brand

Cons

Seriously lacking in the fundamentals. No sales/media training for employees. Leadership lacks strategic vision. No consideration of clients needs and wants. 80s mentality to sales and closing new business.
