Pros

The environment is quite welcoming Excellent location (Heart of the financial district) Training is relevant and paid for Accepts people with minimal experience and of all backgrounds (Minority, women, army veterans) Many options afterward

Cons

Requires 2 year commitment (Hefty fine if you leave or terminated before hand - 20k) Salary is below industry standard (40k in the first year, 45k in the second year. Industry average for IT consultant is between 60k-75k)

Pros

- Beware of 5 star reviews, a lot are from fake accounts to compensate for previous bad scores. - Not many; some will say their portfolio of clients, but a lot of their best clients are cutting their ties due to the cons mentioned below.

Cons

- Bullying culture, particularly at account manager level - Threat of paying 20 000 pounds training - Said training is not that good in the first place (equivalent really to any similar course you might find online) - Training is forced upon you, whether you have proved to have the skills that they "teach" or not - Essentially, training is just penalty clause. If you leave before 2 year period, FDM will chase graduate to pay the fees, which are ludicrous and double the cost of prestigious Masters computer science programs in the UK. - Graduates forced to take roles they have no interest in (business analysts as testers, software devs as support roles). This is common. If you refuse account manager will raise the threat of firing you from the program, with the training costs involved.

Jonathan Young, CIO: Thank you for your feedback. FDM operates a completely open contractual arrangement with trainees, in which the terms are explained in multiple ways (e.g. presentations, videos and then written clearly in our contracts). As an ex-employee of a year’s tenure, you should be fully familiar with the details. Even after having seen all the presentations and videos and read their contract and signed their contract, consultants can still withdraw from the programme at any point during the 14 day “cooling off period” – as I am sure you will remember. I would be keen to discuss your comments further, as I do not recognise the behaviours or feelings you describe. I am confident that you will find me responsive but not defensive. Feel free to contact me directly by emailing Jonathan.Young@fdmgroup.com
