Pros
It was a job, I got paid. Like all government jobs, benefits were good and it came with a similar 401K (Thrift) as well as potential pension.
Cons
Favoritism among friends; mandatory on call hours and not getting paid for it. When questioned about unfair treatment, was further humiliated and was told it was part of the job.
