Pros
- Working with passionate, talented, smart colleagues. - Great benefits. - Regular opportunities to receive free or discounted PRH books - PRH publishes a wide range of books so you're bound to find an imprint or division that suits you.
Cons
- PRH salaries are often better than other publishing companies, but still very low. - There is often a culture of working long hours, including evenings and weekends, especially for Editorial staff. Work-life balance isn't the best and staff aren't paid overtime. - Career progression is slow. For instance, people in junior roles often spend years in a role before they are promoted (if they are promoted at all). - Lots of discussions around diversity and inclusion are good, but much more *action* needs to be taken outside of lip service/tokenism/positive action schemes for the company culture to improve.
