Pros

Eaton for a long time was a good job that promoted from within and encouraged employee engagement in leadership projects.

Cons

Eaton no longer seems to care for its employees. There is a constant fear of layoffs as they happen often and are unexpected. The work that you are required to perform is ever increasing while your pay doesn't increase even close to what the standard inflation rate is. The health insurance is basically non existent and has increased in cost dramatically over the last few years and reduced its coverage at the same time. Expect to pay around $10k out of pocket before the insurance pays a penny. While the insurance and benefits have all kept rising at a staggering rate the pay has not. There are regular emails stating that they are delaying your yearly raise indefinitely. They also require you to take unpaid time off to help them reduce their costs. Overall they will sell you with a lot of promises but at the end of the day most of them are hollow and never come to fruition. it is unfortunate that this company is declining at the rate that it is.

Pros

Great pay, signing bonus, exposure to several disciplines of the business such as manufacturing, marketing, op-ex, sales, management, etc. This program fast tracks participants to management level in just 3 years.

Cons

Not much say in where the locations of the rotations are

Pros

Decent pay, and good job security in the electrical industry. Plenty of opportunity to move around for jobs and career growth due to the sheer size of the division and its spread out locations.

Cons

If you want to stay in one place to grow, it is extremely difficult. Local management varies, but this is a good ol boys environment and it shows. Plenty of people who are not qualified to be managers are, simply because of the number of years they've put in. They make it painfully obvious by saying you can't move jobs until you fill your 2 years, time is required to qualify for application. Management at this plant is abysmal and highly unprofessional. No local hr at each plant has allowed people to run amok, and the management is free to do as they please and act like children. Bonus is based on overall plant performance not individual. No drive to go the extra mile since it nets you nothing, yet gives the plant manager a great boost. Moral is at an all time low. Previous employee reviews had the plant at over 90% satisfaction. Most recent averaged between 50-60% satisfaction.
