Culture is changing

Pros

Great people, some who have been there a long time, and have great subject matter expertise.

Cons

The new CEO appears to be changing the culture. Leadership is changing and leadership styles are changing. The 2 day work from home option appears to be going away. I don't think the family oriented, work-life balance of the past will continue. A metrics driven, McKinsey suggested culture appears to be on the horizon.

Pros

Work from home, flexible schedule, good pay. When you first start the trainers are super great at their job in making sure you understand the material. After 30 days I received $500 to help set up my home office. You get reimbursed for internet each month. They send out freebies (t-shirts, mugs, gift baskets).

Cons

Non-Stop calls, minimal breaks. Misleading, lack of support. I initially loved the company and loved my job but that quickly changed when I started experiencing technically problems with the equipment they provided. I kept getting told by the help desk that it was an issue with my internet but I had a technician come to my home and check my connection and that was absolutely no issues going on. The issue continued until I was out of PTO ( In march!!!) and was told the only solution for me to continue working would be for me to commute to the Center which was 150 miles ONE WAY away from me. I was told there would be no compensation for that commute because working from home is "a perk of working at Discover". I was also promised to promote up to Coach after completing my training but training seemed to never end. When I interviewed for the job I was told training lasted 5 weeks but 6 months later I was still "training" and not able to promote to another area even though my coach and Team Lead agreed I would be a great fit for the role.

Pros

-Remote life is nice - You make amazing friends through struggling together -The perks -You learn about Credit Cards- since working here it has helped me with building my credit

Cons

Started this Journey with this company!! I felt valued and was excited about the job until that feeling wore off. Day one we had a wonderful intro to the company was told that we were valued and that we were family . going through the milestones each trainer had a different technique . Our First trainer was the only competent one within the company! after completing the last step to transition into core. The company told us we were being moved with a team meeting with me and my peers! Told us that we had no *SAY* due to a overstaffing issue with being in training we were tossed into a5 week training! GET THIS.. the trainer for our classes was thrown into training us and was not a DEPARTMENT TRAINER!! THE SYSTEMS ARE SLOW and Not something you are wanting to deal with on the daily! -I was let go in a 5 min meeting with my TL and HR rep! I was not warned about any misconduct only the conversation of being laid off. there has been no communication between the company and I . **THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE!! STAY AWAY!
