Pros

Used to be a good company to work for 1 year ago

Cons

Almost all women who came back from approved maternity leave either were offered severance or offered a lower role. Most of them had to sign NDAs so they can get some severance to take care of their families. Anyone who has an opinion disappears from the company in days. Worst culture. If I could give it 0 or negative, I would. No one outside of adyen knows or cares about Adyen, so jobs post adyen are so bleak. You will be stuck here, as know one outside will care about the experience you gained here.

Widespread toxic politics

Pros

Trips to Amsterdam, free lunch

Cons

The Adyen culture that was once revered has disappeared, making way for a corporate atmosphere fueled by the company's rapid growth. Regrettably, the introduction of power-hungry leaders from outside has led to a prioritization of their own interests, disregarding the well-being of the employees. This has resulted in a pervasive toxic political environment and a heightened tendency to assign blame. The days when senior management set an example and supported employees to deliver excellent service to merchants are now gone. Existing employees experience minimal to no professional growth, as the focus has shifted predominantly towards external leaders who, ironically, often lack experience in their respective domains. Moreover, external hires receive higher compensation compared to existing employees, exacerbating the sense of inequity. It is disheartening to see senior managers taking credit for the hard work of their subordinates while expecting them to work tirelessly. Prepare yourself for an exhausting work environment where the workload can be overwhelming, while senior managers reap the rewards of your efforts, and sacrifice you for your mistakes.

Pros

The people you work with on a daily bases are nice. Maybe a bit trauma bonded Trip to Amsterdam

Cons

-There is very little training, you have to take on learning a very hard job on your own. -Pay is below industry average -Churn is very high, becoming more and more of a cut throat environment -Many managers are hands off but harsh when mistakes are made. -Travel or exchange is often not approved so if that attracted you think again. -You will be expected and reprimanded for not coming into the office 3 days a week a Monday/ Friday is expected. - The confusion of a start up but the rigidness and cut throat of a bank
