I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UPS (Newington, VA) in Apr 2009
Interview
The interview consisted of the basic questions such as why do you want to work here, and how long do you see yourself with the company. The job is as entry-level as it gets, so if you manage to make it to the interview stage and do not get an offer, than the interview must have been a real disaster. Now, in saying it's an easy process, I don't want to give the impression that normal interviewing etiquette goes out the window. Dress nicely (I wore a suit), be prepared, and arrive 15 minutes prior to the prescribed time.
Entry-level UPS jobs are high intensity and not for the lazy. If there is any perception that you are not willing and able to do the job, then you won't get the position. UPS relies on EVERY employee to accomplish the mission, and if you are seen as the weak link, you won't last long.
Now as for being promoted to Part-Time Supervisor, it's a lot of memorization of key safety points. Just bust your hump for a little while and people will notice you. While there are some people who probably should not have been promoted to Part-Time Supervisor, don't let that discourage you. As one of my bosses told me once, at UPS the cream always rises to the top.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UPS (Rancho Cordova, CA) in Mar 2008
Interview
Applied online after seeing a flyer for the position.
A large group of potential applicants were called to the facility to see an example of the work environment. At the end of the presentation, the manager had a very brief (1 min) interaction with the applicants.
After being called back, a very small group had to pass a drug/hearing/background check. We were also tested on safety rules.
After all I believe only two of us were offered a position.

Question 1
If you came across a box that seemed to be leaking and the bottom was damp, what would you do?
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UPS in Jun 2008
Interview
Upon completing an application, you'll get an e-mail telling you when your first interview is. In this first interview, you will fill out information on a computer. It's in a room so be prepared to be next to other people who will also be filling out information. Then you will go to a room and speak with one person, going over things such as pay, time you want to work, etc.
