Applied via referral from a Microsoft employee (would recommend using this process when applying). The process started with a phone call from a Microsoft recruiter followed by 4 x 1hr Interviews over the space of a 2 weeks (via teams due to COVID) with different Microsoft employees.
Once the interview process had been completed the recruiter made a formal offer by the end of next working day.

Informal, questions focused on application design. Choose an app you interact with on a regular basis, and outline its core functionality. Draw a relationship diagram between features. Will be challenged on what are core features.

4 rounds. Some interviewers were good. Please don’t waste your time if you don’t come from IIT IIM. You notice everyone taking your interview is IIT PLUS IIM. Don’t waste your time . I wasted a month in preparation and 5 hours in interviews.

They will ask you all variety of stupid questions like how will you sell things in the morning and how will you calculate throughput in ec2 instance. They want you to run entire product and technical life cycle and develop entire Microsoft alone . Unrealistic to another level .
