I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Databricks in Dec 2025
Interview
1 recruiter round, 1 OA, 1 behavioral, 1 technical interview, 1 hiring manager presentation round. this was for the L3 early career position - the technical round wasn't so much grilling but around talking through projects you've worked on and the technical pieces there. the presentation was about presenting a project you recently worked on and trying to deliver a cohesive presentation to folks hearing/learning about it for the first time.

Question 1
common behavior questions: why databricks? tell me about projects you've worked on. tell me about a biggest weakness, etc
first round was with the recruiter. did not get past that. Mostly because the experience didnt match. They are very precise on years of experience. They are very precise on years of experience.
Poor interview process. Were unclear about stages and mixed up the sequence of stages. I cleared the advanced stages first but didn’t clear the HM stage. A bit of a let down to both parties as it wasted our precious time due to misaligned expectations.
The hiring process consists of several stages: a recruiter interview, technical interviews, a hiring manager interview, a case study interview, and a technical assessment assignment to evaluate candidate skills and suitability in python and spark.
