I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY)
Interview
I received an employee referral for a technical role on their team. A recruiter reached out to me a few days later and we had a phone call to discuss the opportunity and team and what I was looking for. I next had a phone call with a team leader; this was more of a conversation about the team (people, projects, etc.) and the position than a technical interview, i.e. I was not asked any technical questions.
After that, I was invited for an on-site interview. I received information ahead of time about who I would be meeting and how to prepare for the interview.
Overall, I heard back on next steps very quickly (within a business day in most cases), and my recruiter was very friendly, professional, and great to work with.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Capital One (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2018
Interview
Applied on their website and they scheduled a phone screening. To make a long story short they blamed me for not being a hard worker after hearing my responses. Decided to pass my resume to another set of recruiters. I never heard back from them. The rudeness just makes me mad.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Jul 2018
Interview
2 phone interviews (recruiter followed by technical lead) and then a multi person on site interview. The process was extremely quick; first call to offer was about a month. The on site consisted of 4 one on ones with team members and ended with a case study style interview.
