I was unable to fully understand the interviewer due to his very strong accent. In addition, I believe he had limited command of English, as he appeared to be reading the questions verbatim. When I asked him to confirm whether I had understood the question correctly, by repeating it back to him, he would agree and say yes. However, when I provided my answers, he would repeat the same question again, which made it difficult for me to move forward or expand beyond the same topic.
The questions were delivered in a very automatic manner, lacking the natural flow typically expected in an interview. It felt less like an interactive conversation and more like a checklist of concepts, without room for contextual or applied discussion. Although the questions seemed to require simple answers, when I provided context or deeper explanations, the interviewer appeared unable to fully understand them. Overall, the interview dynamic felt very robotic.
From the beginning, the interviewer displayed visible signs of bad mood, including facial expressions that suggested irritation and a certain level of rudeness. I also believe that the dynamic of a male interviewer interviewing a female candidate may have influenced the interaction.
Throughout the interview, I made an effort to provide answers that demonstrated my professional potential, background, and advanced knowledge of the field. The interviewer was not assuming my knowledge.
At one point, when I was asked a question related to TikTok and its internal environment, I asked a relevant follow-up question in order to better position and explain what I could realistically implement at TikTok. However, the interviewer was unable to provide clarification, which prevented a meaningful discussion. Overall, the questions felt disconnected and fragmented.
Absence of dialogue or follow-up questions, and very Cold, robotic, feels quite random interview. (it was 40 minutes of being lost and questioning myself why he was keeping the interview for so long)
