I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Princeton, NJ) in Apr 2025
Interview
Recruiter Screen that includes a few basic technical questions, Basic Stats + Python round with two Bloomberg employees, Pandas round with a Data Management Professionals, final round with a senior manager. Did well in all rounds except final round, interviewer was in a very bad mood. Other than that, all my other interviewers were very pleasant. Study basic stats, Stratascratch pandas, and use Kaggle datasets. Stats + Pandas round had questions like what factors would you consider when analyzing rent prices over time, what is precision and recall, overfitting vs underfitting, reverse a list in Python, etc. Pandas round covered loading in a dataset, filtering, groupby, identifying and fixing typos, visualization (the interviewer actually helped me find syntax to create a bar graph, she was fairly laid back), etc.
- 1 easy LeetCode question, followed by 3 questions related to data
- friendly interviewers, smooth experience
- interview preparation document given prior to interview to help understand what will be covered and to prepare for the interview
Began with an HR screen over the phone. Then had a technical interview with questions about data organization and Leetcode-style questions. Second technical about data cleaning. The final interview was a chat with a Senior manager.
