I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AlphaSights in Nov 2013
Interview
I applied through my university's career website and received an email soon after requesting an interview. The interview was conducted through a videochat program. It was very awkward because as you talked, your face was staring right back at you in the computer screen. Also, there was a predetermined time for each question, so if said everything you could for one question but the time wasn't up, there would just be an empty pause until the time finished and you would move onto the next question. If you messed up on a question, there was no way to go back and redo it.

Question 1
The questions are relatively easy and stereotypical of any interview. The real challenge is that it's done via videochat. It's a lot harder to talk to a computer screen than to a real person. The interview process seems very artificial which made it very difficult for me.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights
Interview
Applied on-line through the website. Received an e-mail from a recruiter (it appeared automated) within a week inviting me to do an online self-recorded video interview. The email strongly recommended I complete the interview within 48 hours. The interview was quite awkward in terms of the set up and the need to record your own answers. You had only 1 chance to record yourself. Received an email after a week or two saying that I did not get selected to move on.
