First of all, I received an email from an 'vice consultant' from the NY office asking me to apply as they had already found my CV online. That weekend I went on holiday and practiced for 2 days to do an interview which was based online. I used Photobooth on my Mac to get used to seeing myself answer questions - this I think is a good idea for anyone preparing for the interview. When finally undertaking the interview, the first question (obviously) 'can you describe what AlphaSights does?' was almost obvious so that went ok, the only problem is that you have exactly one minute to answer the question and it can be a bit tough as you see yourself babbling and nervous. The second question was 'how do you perceive success? or 'how would you describe success?' i don't exactly remember, but it sort of threw me off. anyway i tried to answer but put my laptop screen down as i got angry. I believe its a really inhumane way of interviewing your candidates and so wrote an email to the recruiter whom picked me to do an interview if there was a possibility of a phone interview. no response. a few days later an hr guy wrote to me asking why i hadn't submitted the interview, i asked for a phone interview in response but didn't hear back from him. overall i had a pretty bad experience with the company and out of all the interviews i've done so far it was probably the worst one.
good luck to any one who is willing to join the company. I'm sure the one to one interviews are fine, just the initial one can put you off a bit.
